Zach Grann is a New York-based, multi-instrumental singer/songwriter with experience in music production. His intimate lyrics are the product of years of listening to conceptualists such as Billy Joel and Bob Dylan, while his folk-inspired chords and melodies often remind people of the boldness of Bruce Springsteen and Warren Zevon.

In his most recent project, Grann has been writing, researching, and composing a sung-through musical relating the Jonestown Massacre in Guyana to today’s political climate. The story follows an ambitious, young journalist as he investigates the decadence in the Peoples Temple Agricultural Project under the leadership of Jim Jones.

At eighteen years old, Grann volunteers as a piano instructor at Songcatchers in Westchester. He also serves as a co-host and founder of “Behind the Music,” an internship in music analysis sponsored by Lagond Music School.

“If you’re a writer, you know that the stories don’t come from you—you have to go looking for them. The old men in the lobby: that’s where the stories were.”

— Tom Waits
